Was expecting this to be a touristy place but decided to give it a shot as recommended by my Airbnb owner. Pleasantly surprised that many locals come here and it felt to be a very authentic and traditional experience with people eating bifanas by the counter with a beer. The bifana was great and I also ordered some fries that turned out to be the best French fries I’ve had in a long time!

Fun place for fast, very affordable food! My husband and I split a Bifana, a Prego, and an order of fries. It's not gourmet, but we enjoyed every bite. And we had just enough room after for dessert! The place itself is tiny and there are a few tables packed inside, community style, and two outside. You can also eat standing at the counter. The woman who helps us was really nice and welcoming. Cash only.

An absolute institution and a must-visit in Lisbon (famously featured on one of Anthony Bourdain’s shows). Stepping inside feels like going back in time—right down to the prices—you can get a bifana for under €5 (considering the prime area it’s in, that’s a steal)! The staff are no-nonsense but genuinely friendly and helpful, which only adds to the charm.

Made a stop to a simple, no-frills spot that’s become legendary thanks to Anthony Bourdain. Had to try the famous Bifana, a succulent steak marinated in garlic and spices 😋 our 2nd restaurant visited by Bourdain on this trip!

It's something like a local Portuguese sandwich. They make it right there in front of you, with cheese and chicken. It costs €3.50. Just come and enjoy. There's little guarantee you'll get a seat, but you can also get takeout.
